    Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students.

     

    Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low achieving schools. We create school programs and cultures that result in college graduation for all students. We uplift and revitalize communities through the development of educational and other supportive partnerships.

     

    The Professional Development and Assessment Manager will lead PUC in leveraging technology to implement the shifts of the Common Core State Standards, improve student outcomes, and promote college and career readiness. This person will also coordinate and curate PUC Wide Professional Development in order to build teacher leadership and capacity across the organization

     

    Responsibilities

    • Design and implement new forms of professional development including those that are intelligent, individualized, innovative, and technologically based
    • Collaborate with PUC leadership in analyzing and improving upon current PD processes, resources, and enabling conditions
    • Curate and coordinate all PUC Wide PDs with the Instructional team and content leads across the network
    • Provide professional technology learning experiences to increase teacher and student digital literacy.
    • Identify, support, and implement technologies and curricular programs that promote technological literacy and increase college readiness. 
    • Investigate resources and research relevant to assessments (benchmarks and state assessments) 
    • Manage organization-wide assessment implementation plan for all content areas, including New York 
    • assessments
    • Lead the coordination and execution of the PUC wide assessment plan (interims and state-assessments) 
    • Collaborate in designing and delivering professional development opportunities – both for instructional technology and for general instruction PUC Wide
    • Leverage technology to create communities of practice that provide personal learning opportunities.

    Qualifications

    Experience, Education & Skills Qualifications

    • Professional development models and delivery platforms
    • General curriculum and instruction practices, research, and methodologies
    • Instructional frameworks, such as the Danielson or TCRP framework
    • Adult learning theory, facilitation skills, and the cycle of inquiry
    • Grant application or grant management
    • Developing knowledge of Common Core standards and instructional strategies
    • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Problem solver and solution oriented
    • Ability to work independently
    • Reflective learner and self-starter
    • Able to multi-task and follow through on projects from start to finish
    • Pays attention to detail
    • Adept with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Able to quickly learn and evaluate a variety of technological tools
    • A passion for improving education to help all children prepare for college
    • Holds a valid secondary teaching credential
    • 3 years secondary teaching experience with evidence of high student growth
    • 2 years school leadership experience (coaching, department head, BTSA support, etc.)
    • 1 year of organizational leadership experience (program coordinator, trainer etc.)
    • Ability to travel between thirteen schools between Northeast Los Angeles and Northeast San Fernando Valley (must possess a Valid Driver’s License)
    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
