    The Director, Information & Technology Services is accountable for delivery of IT strategies, services and operations. Acts as an advisor to management and facilitates the organization’s initiatives across the enterprise. Provides guidance on the uses of technology to meet operational, security and business requirements; implements technology to serve clients; implements education-specific technologies.

    Essential Duties

    • Develops and executes departmental strategies and measures progress toward goal accomplishment aligned with the organizational vision
    • Directs development of the department budget and work practices required to meet strategic and operational objectives
    • Formulates the information technology strategy and long-term information technology direction for the IT Department
    • Provides leadership and coaching necessary to attract, develop and retain a highly competent, diverse, customer oriented staff
    • Oversees the administration of comprehensive Information & Technology programs and services including, but not limited to, applications, technical operating and information technology security systems, networking, voice and data communications and technology, telecommunications, cellular services, data management and customer support services
    • Identifies changes and trends in education, computer and systems technology and assists senior management with the implementation of changes
    • Collaborate and oversee external vendors and partners while conducting independent work on various IT systems
    • Create and submit detailed reports to senior management, including needs analysis, evaluations, and results of testing and pilot projects
    • Manage, maintain, and negotiate IT related leases and contracts
    • Administer and apply for Federal and state grants, including e-Rate the universal service Schools and Libraries Program, commonly known as the E-rate Program

    • B.A./B.S. in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
    • 9+ years of progressively responsible experience in information and technology systems; at least five of which were in a supervisory or program management capacity and preferably in an education environment
    • PowerSchool and Microsoft Windows environments experience preferred
    • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data

    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
