    Job Purpose

     

    The Summer School Coordinator is responsible for administration of the summer school program, including planning and coordination, program implementation, building and staff supervision and reporting. The ideal Summer School Coordinator wholeheartedly believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their development, reflection, implementation of school culture and collaboration to ensure student success.

    Responsibilities

    Essentia Duties and responsibilities, listed but not limited, below:

     

    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of site summer school
    • Collaborate to promote clear expectations, well-defined channels of communication and relationships between administrators, students, parents/guardians, and staff.
    • Serve as contact resource person for questions regarding summer school program
    • Collaborate with the Principal to create and cultivate safe and positive school culture and climate for students and staff.
    • Works with site administration in development of summer school master schedule.
    • Coordinate staffing for site summer school program.
    • Compile, prepare, disseminate and maintain required summer school reports as required by State and Federal regulations and Board of Education policies
    • Meet with parents to handle concerns and complaints.
    • Implement site summer school discipline procedures and handle infractions

    Qualifications

    Experience, Education & Skills Qualifications

    • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
    • Willingness to learn with patience and detail oriented
    • Must have prior experience working with students in a learning environment, or be an education student working towards a teaching credential
    • Communicate and relate effectively with students, teachers, volunteers and parents
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Must be flexible and team-oriented
    • Enforce safety and disciplinary procedures and rules
    • Must have excellent management and organizational skills and a positive attitude
    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.

    Salary & Benefits

     

    • $2,550 stipend (12 days of summer school)
    • $2,700 stipend (15 days of summer school)
