Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Human Resources, the HR Director will work with the HR Sr. Team to ensure the day to day HR functions are carried out with success. In addition to working towards becoming an employer of choice.

Responsibilities

Supervisory Functions

  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees
  • Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques
  • Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained
  • Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained
  • Completes necessary performance assessments of subordinate staff
  • Applies the laws, regulations, and principles of equal employment opportunity to personnel situations
  • Directs staff in counseling management and employees on grievances and other complaints originating from individual work situations or work environments
  • Develops assessment techniques and evaluates staff development
  • Establishes procedures and recommends changes in polic

 

Employee Relations

  • Assist team members and management with the interpretation and correct application of company policies, procedures, programs and practices, while exercising the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Provide assistance and guidance to managers with discipline concerns
  • Conduct or assist with investigations


Compliance

  • Conduct periodic audits of employee files, benefits, time off, etc.
  • Ensure team members providing instruction have proper licensure
  • Keep abreast of new and changing federal and state laws

 

Hiring/Exiting Process

  • Process paperwork for new hires
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Process exiting employees

 

Risk Management

 

  • Work with HR team to ensure compliance with WC laws and OSHA compliance

Misc.

  • Assist with developing policies & procedures
  • Assist with HR events
  • Gather data and produce reports
  • Develop assigned training modules and train when needed
  • Assess and identify areas where training is needed
  • Regular attendance, dependability and punctuality in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A. degree required; M.A. or HR Certificate preferred
  • 5-7 years work experience within HR
  • Experience leading a team
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Paycom desired
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
