Job Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the VP of IT, the SIS Manager will provide organization-wide leadership and direction in the management of PUC’s student information systems to ensure compliance and accountability to federal and state regulatory authorities.


  • Responsible for Student Information System strategic planning and deployment.
  • Support and manage student information system personnel.
  • Manage internal and external Student information system requests for reports and data extracts including CALPADS, LAUSD and other compliance reports.
  • Responsible for keeping student information system operational and up to date.
  • Manage student information system support for PowerSchool and PowerTeacher/Gradebook.
  • Develop a cohesive and integrated process for data collection for optimizing the sharing and use of knowledge, data, and best practices across the organization through the categorization, codification, and dissemination of knowledge.
  • Improve data accuracy by developing and implementing standardized processes around data entry and reporting of student information.
  • Create custom reports and pages within PowerSchool to support school-site and organizational data needs.
  • Deliver professional development for group and individual training on functional use of these systems and maintenance of data quality.
  • Maintain updated Help Documents.
  • Automation and integration of new and existing student data systems.
  • Supervise the analysts that:
    • Ensure that required compliance reports from these systems are created, generated and timely distributed to state and national agencies, such as CALPADS and Level 0
    • Facilitate and support setup and data loading (initial and on-going, as needed) such as student information, master calendar and classroom schedules, standards and course catalogue
    • Oversee the monitoring and ensure the accuracy of the data in these systems
    • Work with principals and school administrators to improve accuracy of data entered by school personnel
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Education experience preferred
  • Data Management experience required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong data management and data analysis skills
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing others
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel. Experience with data analysis software and programs.


  • Ability to multi-task and handle diverse high-pressure environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent project management and organizational skill with proven track record that:
    • Meet customer related deadlines
    • Set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Provide continuous feedback to customers
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Must be flexible and team-oriented
